Context

A thought leader - 25+ years of legacy in practice areas - Water, Agriculture, Women Empowerment, Health, Skilling, Education - With close to 3 decades of expertise in knowledge and practice, it was time for Ambuja Cement Foundation to document the wealth of expertise for newer organizations to benefit

Challenge

To capture 25+ years of expertise as knowledge and practice leaders and develop an SOP (standard operating procedure) that:

  • Can be used by ACF to train human resources in newer geographies during expansion

  • As a learning tool by newer organizations before they set up a project in any of these practice areas

Solution

A specially curated ‘Knowledge Repository toolkit’ developed through an extensive exercise that included:

  • Desk review and in depth understanding of the 6 practice areas

  • Consultations with Sr Mgmt, Program teams, Leads at Field offices

  • Immersion visits for live project exposure and SOP development

  • Development of a Knowledge Repository Model that was specially tailored to ACF's practice areas

The above formed the foundation for the Knowledge Repository toolkit.

Outputs

Resources

ACF used it as a knowledge sharing tool internal and external to the organization. The design of the tool made it a ready reference for any program leader creating a program design and theory of change for these practice areas

The Knowledge repository toolkit consisted 6 documents, richly documented SOP under the following titles:

  • Needs Assessment

  • Programme Framework

  • Implementation Design

  • Impact Evaluation

Encouraging a learning environment by cross sharing of Knowledge and Practice in the form of SOP and KR toolkit
